Background

My career in technology began at a small internet startup in Seattle, WA. In partnership with a large software company, we achieved some significant firsts, including the first streaming sportscast and first streaming movie.

At AT&T Wireless, Aviation, I created data models and UX specifications for the design and build of a bespoke ERP platform. Our successful launch enabled item level traceability of critical products across our supply chain in accordance with FAA regulations.

I began my career at Starbucks Coffee Company, defining EDT specifications for supply chain platforms and solutions. While supply chain will always be a love of mine, I yearned to be closer to the end-users.  I transitioned to the digital team where I managed the information architecture, functional and interaction design specifications for the Starbucks and Seattle’s Best Coffee websites.  As we built out the Starbucks mobile app, I was responsible for creating the API specifications initially for the store location feature in V1. I then led the API design for a fully PCI compliant Starbucks Card reload function. Working in partnership with Paypal I led the design for the first mobile 3rd party payment solution.  The Starbucks app stood as the most used mobile payment app solution for 8 years.

I managed the team of technical product managers that designed the integration with multiple loyalty solutions as we continued to evolve and improve the customer experience.  I created a UX research team, and advocated for, and achieved the creation of accessibility team.  I spearheaded the effort to include requirements for security, accessibility and analytics into our testing, design, user story and specification processes. As part of the digital product leadership, I implemented my teams’ agile product practices and continuously refined and improved our methodology. My team grew to over 20 people creating the research, analysis, and technology user stories and specifications for all the app. I forged close working relationships with the business, design, engineering, and operations teams in continuously improving our processes, but also ensuring alignment and communication of the digital roadmap. I was a key participant in Starbucks’ executive annual strategy and planning meetings.

As Order Ahead capabilities were launched and Starbucks analytics and insights drove more and more of the CX on the app, I worked closely with marketing leadership to identify the need for a martech stack to drive a fully personalized app experience and enhance the loyalty program offerings.  I defined and managed a multi-million dollar budget and managed an organization of over 40 analysts, product managers and engineers. We created a martech environment of 3rd party and in-house integrations with big data and predictive machine learning capabilities. Our targeted promotions and recommendations drove engagement on the app and with Starbucks products, and increased the average order ticket on the app by 6%. At this time, the app was processing over 35% of sales.

In my role as a senior director at PK Global/Concentrix Catalyst, my team managed product and project deliverables from planning, analysis, design, and delivery. Some of our many projects included: app branding, design and specifications for large retail companies; brand and design of a gamified app experience for a large non-profit, integrated accounting solutions for a financial services company; and marketing technology solutions for healthcare and software companies. I led agile adoption across the strategy, design, product and engineering organizations. I also served on the company’s DEI committee, with a mission to create a welcoming workplace for all.

In my spare time I enjoy the amazing local music, art, and food scenes here in Tulsa, OK, and hiking with my dog, Ghezza.
